What this covers

Tiebar is a web app for learning construction scheduling. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

Using Tiebar without an account (guest mode)

You can learn as a guest. Your lesson progress, game scores, practice attempts, and Sandbox work are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device — not on our servers. If you later create an account, that local progress is merged into your account and then cleared from the browser.

Accounts and authentication

If you sign up, we use Supabase for authentication (email magic-link sign-in) and to store your profile, learning progress, XP, streaks, practice attempts, and any Sandbox projects you save. We store your email address for sign-in and your chosen display name. We do not store passwords (sign-in is by magic link).

AI tutor and Sandbox assistant

When you use the in-lesson tutor or the Sandbox scheduling assistant, the text of your message and the relevant on-screen context (e.g. the current question or network) are sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) to generate a response. These messages are processed to produce your answer. Do not include sensitive personal information in tutor or assistant messages.

Planopedia (scheduling assistant)

Planopedia answers scheduling questions. Your question, recent messages in the same chat, and relevant reference excerpts from our knowledge base are sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) to generate a response. Calculations are produced by Tiebar's own scheduling engine, not the model. Please don't paste confidential project data or personal information into Planopedia.

If you are signed in, your Planopedia chats (your questions and the answers) are saved to your account so you can return to them; you can rename or delete any chat at any time, and deleting it removes it from our database. If you use Planopedia as a guest, your current chat is kept only in your browser's local storage and is not uploaded or carried over if you later create an account. When you rate an answer with a thumbs up or down, we store that rating with the question and answer so we can improve Planopedia; that stored question and answer text is automatically deleted after 90 days (the rating is kept). If an answer was based on a file you uploaded, rating it stores only the rating — no question or answer text. To limit abuse and cost, we count daily usage per account, and for guests per browser and a one-way hashed IP; these counters are deleted after a few days. Analytics events for Planopedia record only that a question was asked or an answer rated — never the text of your messages.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand product usage (for example, which lessons are started and completed, and whether people return). Analytics events use an anonymous identifier; for signed-in users the identifier is your account's random ID (never your email or name). Events do not include your email, your name, or the text of your answers or messages. We do not use session replay.

Error monitoring

We use Sentry to capture technical errors so we can fix them. Error reports are scrubbed to avoid personal information such as email addresses or your answer text.

Feedback

When you send feedback, we store your message, the page you were on, and your screen size, and we email it to our team via Resend. If you are signed in and tick "you can contact me," we include your email as a reply-to so we can respond. To limit abuse, we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (not the IP itself) to rate-limit submissions; that hash is deleted from feedback records after 30 days.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies that are necessary for sign-in sessions, and browser local storage for guest progress and preferences. Analytics may set its own identifier.

Data retention and your choices

You can clear guest data by clearing your browser storage. For account data, contact us to request deletion. Feedback IP hashes are removed after 30 days.
